I have been experimenting with blogging and pinging, one of the suspected get your site listed and ranked faster.

First I will explain what is and ping. Blog and ping is a technique that can be used to get your site listed in search engines. The idea is that search engines like blogs because you never update the content, so they stay back. By writing a blog and put some site links in the post, the search engine will spider the link, and the page immediately after your blog.

Pinging is when you send a “ping” to the directory, a list of the blog, and when they are updated blog, know that you’ve added content to your blog. This is suspected to be monitored closely by a search engine spider, so they can spider the new content and add it to search engines that control them.

Anyway, back to my experiment, and whether blogging really get ping your site noticed?

Well my results have been encouraging. I have been tested by only using the blog as the front page of a site the new information I started. http://www.informationpagesonline.com only advertised through the blog announces the new content, and then ping through http://www.pingoat.com blog entries that distribute large ping to some site.

After one week of adding content, and then posting an announcement for a new blog content on the front page and with the ping pingoat, the site seems to get most of the visitors, I can see from the log file. I can also see the amount of traffic coming from search engines, and also a lot of spider activity can be seen on this site, where the search engine is to explore the content.

So I must conclude that the blog and ping is one way to get listed in search engines, or at least get their attention quickly.

You should be blogging and pinging?

Of course that up to you, but for the time, it may be worth trying to blog and ping itself and results tracking. A quick blog post (http://www.blogger.com use if you do not have a blog) and then ping the pingoat take only a few minutes, and can help a site to all search engines quickly.
